Position Descriptions:
1. Job Title: Discipline Committee Member
Reporting Structure: Discipline Committee Members operate under the authority of Hockey Operations and report to the Director of Hockey Operations.
Role Summary: The Discipline Committee is responsible for ensuring fair, consistent, and respectful enforcement of club policies, rules, and codes of conduct. The committee reviews disciplinary matters, makes informed decisions, and helps maintain a safe and positive environment for all players, coaches, and members.
Key Responsibilities: Case Review & Decision Making
- Review all reported disciplinary incidents in a timely and confidential manner
- Gather and assess relevant information from involved parties (players, coaches, managers, officials)
- Apply club policies and governing body regulations consistently when making decisions
- Determine appropriate disciplinary actions, including warnings, suspensions, or further sanctions
Communication & Documentation:
- Clearly communicate decisions and rationale to relevant parties
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of all incidents and outcomes
- Ensure transparency while respecting privacy and sensitivity of each case
Collaboration:
- Work closely with Category Directors and Hockey Operations to address concerns
- Escalate serious or complex issues to senior leadership when required
- Participate in meetings as needed to review cases and discuss policy improvements
Policy Oversight & Improvement:
- Ensure adherence to the club’s Code of Conduct and disciplinary policies
- Provide recommendations to improve policies, procedures, and consistency in enforcement
- Support education and awareness around respectful behavior and expectations
Guidelines & Expectations:
- Maintain strict confidentiality and impartiality in all matters
- Avoid conflicts of interest (members must not participate in cases within their own category/team)
- Act with professionalism, fairness, and integrity at all times
- Make decisions in the best interest of player safety, development, and club values

2. Job Title: Director of Sponsorship & Fundraising
Reporting Structure: Report directly to the President.
Role Summary: The Director of Sponsorship & Fundraising drives revenue through external sponsorships and fundraising initiatives. This position facilitates building relationships with external partners to generate revenue and reduce costs, such as the organization's registration fees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop sponsorship packages
- Build relationships with partners
- Lead fundraising campaigns
- Secure community and corporate support
Chair the Sponsorship & Fundraising Committee:
- Committee members could include business or community contacts.
- Parents with sales backgrounds or business relationships

3. Job Title: Director of Player Recruitment & Retention (x2)
Reporting To: Director of Hockey Operations
Role Summary: The Director of Player Recruitment & Retention serves as a key liaison between the Maple Leaf Athletic Club and its feeder organizations. This role is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with players and families, promoting organizational programs, and ensuring a high level of player retention year over year.
The position plays a critical role in positioning the Maple Leaf Athletic Club as the preferred destination for player development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with current players, families, and feeder organizations
- Actively promote the organization’s programs, including identification camps, summer camps, and tryouts
- Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective and returning families
- Collaborate with Category Directors to support player retention strategies across all levels
- Identify and engage potential new players to strengthen recruitment pipelines
- Support communication efforts to ensure families are informed, engaged, and confident in the organization
- Provide feedback to leadership on recruitment trends, player concerns, and retention opportunities

4. Job Title: Category Director (x3)
Reporting Structure: Category Directors report directly to the Director of Hockey Operations for the season.
Role Summary: Category Director plays a key leadership role in supporting the day-to-day operations of Hockey Operations while strengthening communication and relationships between the club and its members. This position acts as a vital link between teams, families, and club leadership to ensure a positive and well-organized hockey experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Tryout Coordination
- Organize and oversee all aspects of player tryouts
- Manage player check-in and registration processes
- Coordinate distribution, collection, and laundering of both practice and game jerseys
- Arrange music and timekeepers for tryout sessions
- Assist with team registration nights
Liaison with Team Managers & Members:
- Act as a communication bridge between team managers and club members
- Facilitate conflict resolution and address concerns in a professional manner
- Escalate serious disciplinary matters to the Discipline Committee
- Review and approve sanction requests for tournaments and exhibition games
- Conduct year-end surveys and present recommendations to the Board based on feedback
Hockey Operations Committee:
- Serve as a member of the Hockey Operations/Coaching Committee alongside the Director of Hockey Operations and General Manager of Hockey Operations
- Assist in recruiting, evaluating, and recommending coaching staff
- Participate in the Discipline Committee when required (outside of your assigned category)
- Take part in year-end evaluations and exit interviews with players, coaches, and staff

Role Summary:
The Equipment & Apparel Director manages the equipment and apparel program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate apparel orders and vendors
- Maintain equipment standards
- Ensure brand consistency
- Build vendor relationships to ensure best pricing
- Seek online stores for team apparel available throughout the season
